Welcome to Yoga Mums Club - I am so thrilled to have you practise with us!

I'm Jen, mum to a pre-schooler, wife, senior manager in a high pressure workplace, cleaner, taxi service, chef, personal assistant to a neurotic whippet... Wow we do a lot don't we, us mums?

This is why my classes are specifically designed to support the health and wellbeing needs of mothers of young children - providing compassionate movement for hardworking bodies, stress management, and a sense of community with other mums (on that note, where is this 'village' we were meant to have to help us raise our children and help support us in our role as caregiver? Lets just make our own....)
My unique skillset means that I am able to combine traditional yogic techniques with modern movement science and evidence based health and wellbeing practise. I have a Masters degree in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health, 10 years working in Public Health, and 5 years working in complex mental health services in Local Authority and the NHS.
Yoga Mums Club originated from my own personal experience of becoming a new mum and taking myself on the journey of trying to reclaim some time and some sense of myself back again. These few precious hours were spent at a yoga studio where - without even meaning to, because I was definitely just hoping for the Madonna arms - I learned how to properly care for myself whilst also caring for my family.
By practising yoga, including a physical asana practise, meditation and breathwork, I made a huge change to my life. I improved my physical and mental health - I lost 30kg and came off of my long term antidepressants. But most importantly I discovered a set of coping skills that help me balance the demands of work, parenting, and generally existing in modern society as a woman!
I felt like after all of these years of working within health and wellbeing, and after all of the academic knowledge I was holding, I had finally found the missing puzzle piece. Yoga was the practise that helped me move with genuine compassion and joy, that helped me tune in to what my body and mind needed in any given moment, and to start caring for myself from a gentle and authentic place. This was so new to me, after years of strict eating plans and gym regimes.

If you are looking for a fun, laid back yoga practise with a community of mums who understand your journey and want to connect and support each other, come along to our classes. We will work on practises to improve musculoskeletal health, sore wrists shoulders and backs, pelvic floor health, core strength to support all of that carrying, flexibility and mobility practises to ease pain and keep you lifting children onto shoulders and climbing up and down off the floor for years ahead!
Please message me any time you have questions, or even just for a chat! Follow me on Instagram and keep an eye out for our upcoming schedule of vinyasa and yin yoga workshops with coffee and cake, wine tasting, and spa treatments too!

Love Jen xx
